Sleep is an integral part of our wellbeing and can often be overlooked during our busy lives. Sleep allows our body and brain to process and repair after the exertions of our daily activities so we can wake refreshed for a new day.
So how can wool help us sleep? Let’s start by looking at the natural benefits of wool.

Through its unique, natural properties wool can assist you to improve sleep quality and gain a better night’s sleep. Unlike other fibres, wool is an active fibre that reacts to changes in the body temperature. Studies from the University of Sydney show that wool helps you stay warm when the weather is cold, and cool when the weather is hot.
Wool is breathable and can absorb large quantities of moisture vapour, moving it away from the skin and into the atmosphere. Your skin stays at a more consistent temperature and you stay asleep for longer.
Wool is soft to touch and naturally helps relieve aches and pain by dispersing body weight evenly over a wider area. This allows your body to stay in the same position for a longer period to rest and repair throughout the night.
Wool is a safe option for bedding as it’s naturally flame resistant. While cotton catches alight at 255oC, wool has a much higher ignition temperature and needs to reach 570-600o to burn. Wool also doesn’t melt and can’t stick to the skin like many synthetics, making wool a very safe choice for bedding.
Although wool can be washed, we recommend fresh air and sunshine for all MiniJumbuk bedding products. For a fresh new smell, try spraying water with a little eucalyptus or tea tree.
Sleep more peacefully, wake more refreshed, sleep with wool!
