Breakfast in bed - because she deserves it

Breakfast in bed - because she deserves it
Mother's Day has rolled around again, giving us all the opportunity to spoil our mums in an extra special way. Breaky in bed is a Mother's Day classic and guaranteed to please, but this year, instead of the traditional toast on a tray with a quick cuppa, why not pamper your mum with an absolute treat? Lift the bar and take breakfast in bed to new heights - MiniJumbuk has put together some simple ideas for the ultimate indulgence.
  • Make sure Mum has nowhere else to be until at least lunchtime. If you are creating a sumptuous feast it absolutely needs to be savoured at a leisurely pace.
  • Help mum prepare for a great day with a good nights' sleep. The night before remake her bed with some crisp, fresh sheets ensuring all the wrinkles are smoothed away for uninterrupted sleep.
  • Create a comfy, cosy atmosphere for relaxing. Plump up the pillows so mum can sit up comfortably while she munches. You may need to rustle up a couple of extra pillows for added comfort.
  • Pop a pile of magazines, a good book or the weekend paper next to the bed for mum to enjoy as she relaxes. A colourful bunch of flowers is another great way to brighten her day.

  • When it comes to her breakfast tray, get creative and put a little extra effort into the presentation. It doesn't need to be tricky and simple touches are very effective. Fruit is a fabulously easy way to add colour and freshness to a breakfast tray. Strawberries, blueberries and avocado are readily available and rapidly transform the ordinary to something more special.
  • Don't skimp when it comes to the drinks - ditch the instant and brew a big pot of tea or coffee. If mum is not a fan, she won't be able to resist a delicious smoothie or some freshly squeezed juice.
  • And when mum finally makes it out of bed, complete her pamper session with a long soak in the bath. By the time the water is cold she will be ready to face the day.
