The Heart of the Limestone Coast

The Heart of the Limestone Coast

MiniJumbuk is situated in the small South Australian country town of Naracoorte, right in the heart of the Limestone Coast.

The Limestone Coast covers a region of over 20,000 square kilometres stretching from Keith in the north to Port MacDonnell in the south and has a population of over 60,000 people.

Mount Gambier is the major provincial city of the region, and other prominent towns include Naracoorte, Keith, Bordertown, Millicent and Kingston. The area borders Victoria; it has a long coastline and is situated in the far south east corner of South Australia.

The area is known as the Limestone Coast due to the deep limestone deposits created from coral and other sea life.

The region is an agricultural, forestry and fishing “food bowl”, with an international reputation for its wine, dairy, wool and forestry products.

Quick Stats (source Regional Development Australia)

  • Rock lobster and Abalone are the main species caught off the Limestone Coast.
  • 16,000 hectares of vines and over 40 cellar doors
  • 46,000 dairy cows and over 330 million litres of milk production per annum
  • 150,000 hectares of plantation forests
  • 900,000 sheep and lambs

With its first class farmland, clean and green environment, the Limestone Coast is the perfect location for MiniJumbuk. We source the majority of our wool from the local area, where the sheep have lush green grass to eat and clean fresh air to breathe, ensuring that only the best wool fibre finds its way inside our woollen bedding products.
