Meet the Grower: Camborn Station

Meet the Grower: Camborn Station

MiniJumbuk has recently partnered with Rural Aid, David Jones and Camborn Station to release the Farmer's Heart Wool Quilt. With many Australian rural communities severely impacted by drought, it is hoped that sales from this limited edition Australia wool quilt will raise $50,000 to provide assistance for the affected farmers and their families.

At the centre of the Farmer's Heart project is Roger Wilkinson, fourth generation wool grower and owner of Camborn Station. Located approximately 70km northeast of Wentworth NSW, Camborn Station has been experiencing serious drought for the past three years. Roger and his son Mark, run Merino sheep and some cattle on the 94,000 acre station but their passion is producing premium wool from the Camborn Poll Dorset Stud - wool which offers exceptional resilience and is ideal for providing lasting loft and warmth in a quilt.

Recognising the Wilkinson's wool offered qualities perfectly suited to MiniJumbuk products and an opportunity to provide some relief for struggling rural Australian's, Farmer's Heart Wool Quilt was developed. All the wool in these quilts has been sourced from Camborn Station.

'It's very exciting to be part of this initiative and to see how the quilts are made,' said Roger on his visit to Naracoorte.

Creating awareness surrounding the drought was a huge motivation for Roger's involvement. 'I don't think the average Australian living in the city understands how severe it is. In Wentworth the majority of the community is farming - the money has tightened up, businesses are struggling and everyone is low wondering when it is going to rain.'

Purchase your MiniJumbuk's Farmer's Heart Wool Quilt and do your bit to help Aussie farmers get back on their feet.
